With her new film, Anne Le Ny signs a great French thriller, intimate and captivating. In this family story where secrets are too heavy to bear, André Dussollier and José Garcia are impressive in their accuracy.

The Torrent was shot from November 16 to December 24, 2020, over a period of 40 days, entirely in the Grand Est region, in the Vosges department, notably in the communes of La Bresse, Gérardmer and Le Valtin for the landscapes, and in Épinal for all the interior scenes, the police station and the stores. The film received financial support from the Grand Est region, the Vosges departmental council and the Epinal agglomeration.

Synopsis:
When Alexandre discovers that his young wife, Juliette, is cheating on him, a violent argument breaks out. Juliette runs away in the night and falls to her death. The next day, torrential rains washed away her body. The gendarmerie starts an investigation and Patrick, Juliette's father, arrives, ready to do anything to find out what happened during that night of flooding. Alexandre, who fears being accused, persuades Lison, his daughter from his first marriage (18 years old), to cover up for him. He sinks more and more into lying and Patrick starts to suspect him. This is the beginning of a terrible spiral...
