Concert - Bono: Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story on tour in the US and Europe

"When I started writing this book, I hoped to draw in detail what I had previously only sketched in song. The people, places and possibilities of my life. Abandonment is a word that carries a lot of meaning for me. Growing up in Ireland in the seventies, with my fists raised (musically speaking), it was not a natural concept. A word I only circled until I gathered my thoughts for the book. I still struggle with this most humble commandment. In the group, in my marriage, in my faith, in my activist life. Surrender is the story of a pilgrim's lack of progress... With a healthy dose of fun along the way." - Bono

On Bono's birthday, May 10, the news broke: he has written a memoir to be published on November 1, 2022. The subtitle 40 Songs, One Story, refers to the 40 chapters of the book, each named after a U2 song. In the book, Bono writes the story of his life and those with whom he shared it, and the animation released today sees him reading an excerpt from the chapter titled Out of Control, in which he recounts how he began writing the first U2 single on May 10, 1978 - his 18th birthday, exactly 44 years ago.

The Stories of Surrender world tour, in support of the book Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, the memoirs of U2 artist, activist and singer Bono, is coming to France. Each ticket purchased will come with a copy of the book, which will be released on November 1, 2022. The book tour, titled Stories of Surrender, is a limited series of dates to mark the release of a memoir in which one of the world's most iconic artists writes for the first time about his remarkable life and those with whom he has shared it. Bono will bring the stories of his life to life - live and in person.

The book announcement was made today by Reagan Arthur, executive vice president and publisher of Knopf. 'Surrender' will be published in hardcover and ebook, as well as an audio version by Penguin Random House, narrated by Bono.  The book will be released simultaneously worldwide: in addition to the United States, "Surrender" will be published in 15 territories, including Penguin Random House UK, Ireland and Canada.

"All the passion that Bono brings to his music and his life, he also brings to the page," said Bono's publisher Arthur.  "Seven years ago, another legend, the late Sonny Mehta, publisher at Knopf, acquired the book because he knew Bono was in the tradition of Irish literary storytellers, and we were fortunate to have Sonny's notes on an early draft of the manuscript. We are especially fortunate because Bono not only has a dramatic personal story to tell, but he is also a truly gifted writer. Surrender" is an honest, intimate, irreverent and profound book - a dazzling memoir of a remarkable life.

Bono also created 40 original drawings that will appear in the book, as well as in the animations, produced by Rosewood Creative.

Each ticket purchased comes with a copy of Bono's upcoming book, Surrender, which will be released on November 1, 2022. All tickets purchased online will be delivered as secure mobile tickets. There is a limit of two tickets per person. Tickets for the Paris concert will be available on Friday, October 7 at 10:00 am via the internet only. In order to allow as many spectators as possible to purchase tickets and to fight against the illegal resale of tickets, the purchase of tickets will be limited to two tickets
