Movies - Lightyear : Discover the French talent behind the characters

For this perilous mission, it is a high-flying cast that has been gathered.  The French voices of the characters are those of François Civil (Buzz l'Éclair, the Space Ranger who inspired the eponymous toy), Lyna Khoudri (Izzy Hawthorne), Michaël Gregorio (Sox, Buzz's pet robot), Tomer Sisley (Mo Morrison) and Chantal Ladesou (Darby Steel). Also in the cast are Maïk Darah (Alisha Hawthorne old), Virginie Emane (Alisha Hawthorne young), Frantz Confiac (Commander Burnside), Jean Barney (Zurg), Pauline Moulène (I.V.A.N), Volodia Serre (Eric/Deric), Lionel Lingelser (Featheringhamstan), Donald Reignoux (Officer Díaz), Juliette Davis (Izzy young).

Mixing science fiction, action and adventure, the Disney.Pixar film Buzz Lightyear, tells the true story of the legendary Space Ranger who has since inspired the toy we all know. After being stranded with his commander and crew on a hostile planet 4.2 million light years from Earth, Buzz tries to get everyone home safely. To do this, he can count on the support of a group of ambitious young recruits and his adorable pet robot, Sox. But the arrival of the terrible Zurg and his army of ruthless robots won't make their job any easier, especially since he has a very specific plan in mind...

A 5-Star cast for the French voices of the new Pixar movie

Actor François Civil lends his voice to Buzz Lightyear, the space ranger who inspired the eponymous toy. Known for his first roles in films such as Ce qui nous lie, Mon inconnue, Deux moi, Le Chant du loup, Bac Nord and more recently En corps. He will soon be starring in the film The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan.  Buzz Lightyear is a confident, loyal and talented space ranger. Full of ambition, he carries out his missions with great determination. Very different from the toy, the audience will discover who he really was.

Izzy, this character full of freshness, is played by Lyna Khoudri, an actress who won the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival for Les Bienheureux and the Best Female Hope Award at the César Awards for her role in Papicha. She has been featured in films such as Hors Normes, Gagarine, The French Dispatch, Haute Couture and La place d'une autre. She will soon star in Cedric Jimenez's film November and Rachid Bouchared's film Nos Frangins, both presented out of competition at the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, and in 2023 in The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan. Izzy is the leader of the "Junior Zap Patrol", a team that trains to become space rangers. She dreams of following the path of her grandmother, Alisha, Buzz Lightyear's loyal friend.
 

Mo, this humorous character is played by comedian and actor Tomer Sisley. He has been in the spotlight for over 20 years and is equally at home in movies and television. This international actor has played roles in a wide variety of films such as The Millers, A Family in the Making, Largo Winch, Kidon and most recently Don't Look Up: Cosmic Denial.  He is currently the lead in the television series Balthazar. 
Mo has not yet found his way, and it's not for lack of trying. He decided to join Izzy Hawthorne's Junior Zap Patrol, but he doesn't share his passion. It's just a way for him to pass the time.

Mysterious and full of humor, it is Chantal Ladesou who lends her voice to Darby, also a member of the Junior Zap Patrol. This actress and comedian, famous for her numerous projects since the 1980s, is a key figure in the French audiovisual landscape. She recently starred in Superheroes Despite Him. Crude, pragmatic and unenthusiastic, Darby effectively completes the trio. Darby says things as they come to her, and doesn't care about the opinion of others.

Sox is the pet robot that Alisha gives to Buzz. Michaël Gregorio plays this resourceful character. Actor, comedian, singer and impersonator, he is currently starring in the film Hommes au bord de la crise de nerfs (Men on the verge of a nervous breakdown) and will soon be touring with his new show Michaël Gregorio l'odyssée de la voix.  Friend and ideal sidekick, Sox has the role of making Buzz happy after his long absence.
