By Mulder, 14 march 2022

Deep Water is an upcoming erotic psychological thriller film directed by Adrian Lyne, based on the 1957 novel of the same name by Patricia Highsmith, from a screenplay by Zach Helm and Sam Levinson.  It marks Lyne's return to filmmaking after a 20-year absence since his last film Unfaithful (2002).

Based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith, Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas star as Vic and Melinda Van Allen, a wealthy New Orleans couple whose marriage is crumbling under the weight of resentment, jealousy and doubt. As their mutual provocations and manipulations escalate, things quickly turn into a deadly game of cat and mouse when Melinda's lovers begin to disappear.

With steamy and profound performances by Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas directed by one of the genre's master directors, Deep Waters celebrates the return of the erotic thriller that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats from the very first minutes to find out just how far someone is willing to go for love.
