Lego - The Spice Girls are back as LEGO BrickHeadz

Five of the most famous figures in showbiz history are coming to the stage in LEGO brick form for the very first time. The LEGO Group unveils its LEGO BrickHeadz Tribute to the Spice Girls set; a world first for the brand, as no celebrity has been immortalized in LEGO BrickHeadz style until now. To celebrate the release of this new LEGO product, photographer John Rankin has recreated the iconic shots he took with the Spice Girls in his studio at the time, which contributed to their popularity, with The Five LEGO BrickHeadz.

In 1996, Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria turned the British music scene upside down before conquering the world with their hits Wannabe, Two Become One, Viva Forever and Spice up Your Life. Now the band can be built in LEGO bricks, giving fans the opportunity to add a little People Power to their homes.

The new LEGO BrickHeadz set features miniature versions of the Spice Girls, complete with microphones. Every detail that contributed to the Spice Girls' signature style has been faithfully reproduced in bricks, from hairstyles to clothing. Fans will find new LEGO bricks in leopard print for Mel B's eye-catching look, as well as Melanie C's tracksuit and Emma's famous pink dress. As for Victoria, they'll discover her in her iconic black dress.

Of course, the product wouldn't be complete without Geri's Union Jack dress. LEGO designers carefully recreated this memorable dress, which became a symbol of the Cool Britannia cultural movement, and made headlines around the world after Who Do You Think You Are's performance at the Brit Awards in 1997.

When asked about his creation, designer Daniel Squirrell explained, "There are few groups that have defined pop-culture like the Spice Girls did in the 1990s. It was so much fun to bring the band to life in our BrickHeadz style. This is the first time we've recreated a band in BrickHeadz and we really wanted to capture the spirit and nostalgia that the Spice Girls evoke through their iconic looks. I'm thrilled with the result and I hope the fans are too."

The LEGO BrickHeadz Spice Girls pack will be available in LEGO stores and on Lego.com/Spice-Girls starting March 1, 2022, starting at $49.99. Spice Girls fans can also try to get an autographed set by entering a raffle on the LEGO VIP platform starting March 1.
