Disneyland - Avengers campus to open in summer 2022

The 30th Anniversary will also mark the long-awaited opening of the new Avengers Campus theme area, an integral part of the Walt Disney Studios Park transformation. Starting in the summer of 2022, the Super Heroes of the MARVEL Universe will meet at Avengers Campus. They will take visitors on an epic new experience of heroic adventures and missions, continuing the immersion into the Marvel Universe that began with the opening of Disney's Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel in 2021.

Avengers Campus is a Marvel Cinematic Universe themed area located at Disney California Adventure, and under development for Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland. The Marvel-themed lands will be developed simultaneously in all three parks and inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, they will take place in the Marvel Theme Park Universe, an alternative universe parallel to this one within the Marvel Multiverse, in which the Blip and subsequent events introduced in Avengers: Infinity War did not take place. They are designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, in collaboration with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment.

All three parks have hosted a Marvel-themed seasonal event in the past, confirming the demand for the integration of Marvel characters into the parks.

Based on three different continents, the Marvel-themed zones will be defined as their specific region's "superhero campus," helping visitors become heroes. Each zone will feature very different sets of attractions and entertainment, yet are highly interconnected with each other by sharing a common narrative.

The Walt Disney Studios Park (Disneyland Paris) version will take the park's Backlot area and repurpose it with a Marvel theme. It will include a new WDS RNRC theme to feature Iron Man. On December 10, 2018, it was announced that Walt Disney Studios Park would feature a Marvel zone similar to the one coming to Disney California Adventure, receiving the same Spider-Man ride (taking over for Armageddon, which closed on April 1, 2019). The zone will open in mid-2022.
