Revealed just after the credits rolled on the final episode of Season 2 of The Mandalorian, the new Lucasfilm series The Book of Boba Fett chronicles the adventures of the legendary bounty hunter and mercenary Fennec Shand.
The Book of Boba Fett is an American television series created for the Disney+ streaming service. It is part of the Star Wars franchise, a spin-off of The Mandalorian series featuring the bounty hunter Boba Fett from that series and other Star Wars media. The series runs parallel to the other The Mandalorian spin-off, Ahsoka. Temuera Morrison plays Boba Fett, while Ming-Na Wen also plays Fennec Shand. Both reprise their roles in The Mandalorian and other previous Star Wars media. Several attempts were made to develop a standalone Star Wars film centered on Boba Fett before Lucasfilm began prioritizing its streaming series like The Mandalorian. Morrison appeared as Fett alongside Wen in the second season of The Mandalorian, and a potential spin-off series was first reported in November 2020. The Book of Boba Fett was officially announced in December 2020, with Morrison and Wen in the lead roles. Filming began at that time and lasted until June 2021.
