Movies - Kick-Ass 3 : Chloƫ Grace Moretz is on board on one condition

By GraeLeigh, 08 december 2021

Eight years after the release of the second opus of the adventures of Dave Lizewski, the American actress revealed the condition on which she would return. Can it be done? Not necessarily ...

Questioned by Jimmy Fallon on the rumors that run about a third opus, Chloë Grace Moretz did not close the door at all to her return in the franchise that made her known to the general public: "I mean I think I would love to do a 'Kick-Ass 3'. I think it'd be really fun to see where Hit-Girl goes, and what she's like as an adult".

However, fans of Mindy Macready should not expect a miracle because the condition put forward by Moretz is far from easy to meet. Indeed, if we can understand that "I think it would have to be kind of perfect. I feel like it would need to be, across the board, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chris Mintz-Plasse and the whole crew back together"; it's hard to see how the interpreters of Kick-Ass and Red Mist/The Mother Fucker would re-sign.
The reception given to Kick-Ass 2 in 2013 had indeed been quite cool, the critics were not kind and the box-office receipts painfully reached 60 million dollars (against 100 for Kick-Ass in 2010).

The same goes for Matthew Vaughn, director of the first opus, who had not wanted to play the same role in #2, proposing Jeff Wadlow in his place. He had changed his mind for the Kingsman film franchise without the second opus, The Golden Circle in 2017, achieving the same success as the first, Secret Service, released in 2015.
