Festivals - Gerardmer 2022 : Discover the poster of the 29th edition

By Mulder, 03 november 2021

From January 26 to 30, 2022, the international fantasy film festival will take place in the Vosges resort.

Born in 1994, the iconic festival had to go online in 2021 due to a health crisis. The next edition promises to bring together many fans, but if some could not make it, they will be able to see the films at the Cinémathèque française from February 2 until February 7.

The same Cinémathèque will offer a special screening in Gérardmer of Georges Franju's film Les Yeux sans visage, released in 1960. This is a nice way to announce the retrospective it will dedicate to the French director in March 2022.

We should know in December who will succeed director Bertrand Bonello and actor Pio Marmaï as president of the jury, respectively for feature films and shorts.

For the record, the list of winners of the 2021 edition was :
- Grand Prize: Possessor by Brandon Cronenberg.
- Jury Prize: Teddy by Ludovic Boukherma and Zoran Boukherma and Sleep by Michael Venus.
- Prize for the best original music: Possessor by Brandon Cronenberg.
- Critics' Choice Award: La Nuée by Just Philippot.
- Audience Award: La Nuée by Just Philippot.
- Youth Jury Prize: Teddy by Ludovic Boukherma and Zoran Boukherma.
- Grand Prize for short film: T'es morte Hélène by Michiel Blanchart.
- Special mention of the short film jury: La Nuit m'appelle by Olivier Strauss.

While waiting to know the films that will be in competition in the 2022 edition, you can find on our website the Mulder’s review The Swam, the most awarded film of the 2021 edition.
