Red Notice is an American action film written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. The cast includes Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. This is the third collaboration between Dwayne Johnson and Rawson Marshall Thurber after Central Intelligence (2016) and Skyscraper (2018). Originally slated to be released by Universal Pictures, Netflix acquired the distribution rights on July 8, 2019, with the film slated for a limited release on November 5, 2021 before debuting on the platform on November 12, 2021.

On February 8, 2018, it was announced that an action comedy starring Dwayne Johnson and writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber was in development. The film is being produced by Beau Flynn through his Flynn Picture Company, with Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions banner, as well as Thurber's Bad Version Inc. with Wendy Jacobson as executive producer.

Principal photography began on January 3, 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia. Production on the film was previously scheduled to begin in April 2019 after Dwayne Johnson wrapped production on Jumanji: The Next Level. On July 8, 2019, filming was rescheduled to begin in early 2020. A planned shoot in Italy was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. On March 14, it was announced that production was halted indefinitely due to the pandemic. Filming resumed on September 14, 2020. Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds finished filming their roles in late October. Production in Atlanta wrapped on Nov. 14, before heading to Rome and Sardinia, Italy, for a week of shooting. Filming in Italy wrapped on November 18.

With an estimated production budget of $160 million, the film is the most expensive in Netflix history. Visual effects artist Richard R. Hoover served as the film's overall visual effects supervisor. On February 26, 2020, Steve Jablonsky was announced as the composer for Red Notice. Jablonsky previously collaborated with director Rawson Marshall Thurber by composing Skyscraper in 2018.

In this high-flying adventure, the trio travels the globe, finding themselves equally at home on dance floors, locked in an isolated prison, or deep in the jungle. Even worse, they are forced to support each other 24 hours a day. Ritu Arya and Chris Diamantopolous complete the cast. Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Skyscraper) and produced by Hiram Garcia, Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions, Beau Flynn's company Flynn Picture and Thurber's company Bad Version, Red Notice takes us on a cat-and-mouse adventure around the globe.

Synopsis:
When Interpol issues a Red Alert - designed to track down and capture the world's most wanted criminals - the FBI calls in its top profiler, John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson). He travels the globe until he finds himself embroiled in a spectacular heist and forced to team up with the world's greatest art thief Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) to... stop the world's most wanted art thief, "The Bishop" (Gal Gadot).
