Three weeks before the full program is announced, the French American Cultural Fund unveils the titles competing for the Coloca awards 2021 in the television and short film sections
"In 2015 Colcoa was the first festival in North America to program TV series and TV movies. As a result, COLCOA audiences discovered several mainstream series such as "Ten Percent," "The Bureau of Legends..." explains François Truffart, executive producer and artistic director of the festival. "These days, moviegoers are as attentive to series as they are to feature films, and among the industry professionals who attend COLCOA, a majority work for television. Hollywood is thus discovering another aspect of the French audiovisual industry with its original and universal French touch."
Seven series, four TV movies and one documentary, presented in association with TITRAFILMS and the studios Banijay Rights, Federation, Film & Picture, Gaumont Television, Netflix, Newen Connect, StudioCanal and Zelig Films, make up the COLCOA Television section.

Colcoa, one of the oldest and most important film festivals in California, offers each year a high-profile and prestigious event to promote French films and series at the beginning of the Hollywood awards season.
Colcoa brings together the cream of the French film industry (directors, actors, writers, composers and producers) for red carpets, debates and screenings and to foster collaborations between French and American professionals. The festival welcomes more than 20,000 spectators each year, including professionals, journalists, the general public and students.
Colcoa French Film & Series Festival was created and is produced by the French American Cultural Fund, a unique collaboration between the Directors Guild of America (DGA), the Motion Picture Association (MPA), the Société des Auteurs, Composers and Music Publishers (SACEM) and the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW), with the support of Unifrance, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ARP, TVF1, Air Tahiti Nui, Bank of the West/BNP Parisbas, TV5 Monde/Sling and Variety. The COLCOA Education program is presented with the support of ELMA.
