"The universe of BELLE moved me, it's a story so touching and at the same time so current. I completely found myself in the characters.  It is an honor for me to be able to lend my voice to these very special characters. I am very moved to be able to participate in this project ❤️❤️????❤️ " Louane

Belle is a 2021 Japanese science fiction animated film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and produced by Studio Chizu. The film premiered on July 15, 2021 at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where it was well received by critics with a standing ovation that lasted 14 minutes. It was released in Japan on July 16, 2021.

The team of the film, presented in the official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, is pleased to reveal that Louane will play the main character Suzu/Belle in this Mamoru Hosoda re-interpretation of the Beauty and the Beast tale.

Singer, composer, musician and actress, in a few years, this multi-talented artist has become one of the 10 favorite personalities of the French. Louane is also a very active young woman on social networks, which she uses to advocate tolerance and self-esteem.  These values are also at the heart of director Mamoru Hosoda's films, and we find them more than ever in the story of BELLE through its heroine, Suzu, who is introverted in real life and liberated when she becomes a musical icon in a virtual world.

Synopsis:
In real life, Suzu is a self-conscious teenager stuck in her small mountain town with her father. But in the virtual world of U, Suzu becomes Belle, a musical icon with over 5 billion followers. A difficult double life for the shy Suzu, which will take an unexpected flight when Belle meets the Beast, a creature as fascinating as it is frightening. A virtual chase between Belle and the Beast begins, at the end of which Suzu will discover who she is.
