By Mulder, 21 september 2021

After the excellent films Populaire (2012) and Les traducteurs (2019), director Regis Roinsard is back with a third film that is sure to be one of the cinematic events of 202 (the film will be released in cinemas on January 5). The screenplay he co-wrote with Romain Compingt is the adaptation of Olivier Bourdeaut's 2016 novel of the same name, which has received numerous literary awards, including the France Télévisions prize, the Grand Prix RTL-Lire and the France Culture-Télérama student novel prize.

The novel was adapted into a comic book, in 2017, by Ingrid Chabbert and Carole Maurel in an album published by Steinkis. It is also adapted in 2017 in a radio fiction for Samedi noir on France Culture. In 2018, the play is adapted and directed by Victoire Berger-Perrin with in the main roles Anne Charrier (then Julie Delarme), Didier Brice and Victor Boulenger at the Théâtre de la Pépinière.

The cast includes the superb actress Virginie Efira and the excellent Romain Duris, whose film Eiffel, after being postponed several times, will be released in theaters on October 13.

Synopsis:
Camille and Georges dance all the time on their favorite song Mr Bojangles. At home, there is only room for fun, fantasy and friends. Until the day when their mother goes too far, forcing Georges and their son Gary to do everything they can to avoid the inevitable at any cost.
