Prime-Video - Bosch Season 7: Our opinion on the seventh season

"Everybody counts or nobody counts."

 To My Parents

Based on Michael Connelly's best-selling 2014 novel The Burning Room and the true-life arson case that inspired it, the seventh and final season of Prime Video's Bosch features Detective Harry Bosch's famous motto: "Everybody counts or nobody counts." When a ten-year-old girl dies in an arson attack, Detective Harry Bosch risks everything to bring her killer to justice, despite opposition from powerful forces. This highly charged and politically sensitive case forces Bosch to face a grueling dilemma: how far is he willing to go to get justice?

Some series easily go beyond the realm of simple entertainment to become a true exercise in style. Certainly in seven seasons, Bosch has brought together the many readers of Michael Connelly and fans of crime shows. This new and last season of Bosch, which is available since today on Amazon, is once again a real success as its scenario is gripping and allows to continue the development of the main characters. But what would be the Bosch series without the presence of the actor Titus Welliver who brings all his strength to this honest character ready to enforce the law and bring criminals to justice. One comes to this series especially by the way it tells a complete story in each season and by its bewitching atmosphere in which music plays an important role (jazz to be precise).

While the current series relies on a profusion of special effects or video clip-like editing, the Bosch series continues to respect the essence of Michael Connelly's novels and avoids any unnecessary visual effects. This seventh season certainly follows the plot of the novel The Burning Room (2014) but also takes some liberties and especially allows us to show once again the complexity of approaching law enforcement. The script of this seventh season gives a more important role to Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz) and allows this character to really evolve and remain at the center of the story.

This seventh season does not end with Harry Bosch's heartbreaking farewell but with his departure in a brand new direction and that will be broadcast on IMDb TV. We won't say more to leave you with this excellent final season on Amazon Prime. We can only advise you to discover this new season.
