Snake Eyes is an upcoming American superhero film directed by Robert Schwentke, with a screenplay written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Joe Shrapnel, and Anna Waterhouse, from a story by Spiliotopoulos. Based on Hasbro's G.I. Joe toy, comic, and media franchise, the film is a reboot of the G.I. Joe film series and serves as an origin story for the title character Snake Eyes. It will be the first film in the proposed Hasbro cinematic universe. Henry Golding stars as the character, replacing Ray Park who portrayed him in the previous films, while Andrew Koji, Úrsula Corberó, Samara Weaving, Haruka Abe, Takehiro Hira, and Iko Uwais also star. Snake Eyes is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 23, 2021, by Paramount Pictures in United States (August 18, 2021 in France).

It was announced in May 2018 that the next installment of the G.I. Joe franchise would be a spin-off film chronicling the origins of the character Snake Eyes.In December, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that Ray Park, who had played the character in the previous films, would not reprise his role for this film. Robert Schwentke was set as director that same month. Filming began on October 15, 2019 in Vancouver and was expected to continue until December 9. Filming moved to Japan on January 10, 2020.Filming wrapped on February 26, 2020. Golding announced on March 2021 that reshoots for the film were occurring.

Snake Eyes stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a hardened loner who is received into the bosom of an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage, after saving the life of their heir. Upon his arrival in Japan, the Arashikages teach Snake Eyes the secrets of the ninja warrior, while offering him what he longs for: a home. As secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes' honor and allegiance will be put to the test, even if it comes at the cost of the trust of those closest to him. Based on the iconic G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes also stars Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó as The Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Tahehiro Hira as Kenta and Iko Uwais as Hard Master.

Snake Eyes is scheduled for release on July 23, 2021 in Dolby Cinema and IMAX in the United States (August 18, 2021 in France). It was originally scheduled for release on March 27, 2020, before being delayed to October 16,  and then a week later to October 23, 2020.The film was then removed from the release schedule on July 27 due to nationwide theater closures in the United States in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Paramount later rescheduled the film for October 22, 2021, before it was moved up to July 2021. The film could be available to stream on Paramount+ 45 days after it releases in theatres.

Synopsis : 
Snake Eyes (Henry Golding), a brave and lonely man, is welcomed into the ancient Japanese clan of the Arashikage, after saving the life of their heir. The clan makes him a great warrior, while offering him what he has long dreamed of: a home. But some secrets of his past resurface and Snake Eyes, if he wants to keep the trust of those who are now his relatives, will have to test his honor and his loyalty to the clan.
