Amazon Prime Video today unveiled Orelsan, a new Amazon Original documentary produced in France, which chronicles the rise of Orelsan, one of the most famous and iconic French rappers of his generation. Tracing his entire career, this original production will tell the story of the man who has filled France's biggest concert halls and will reveal the behind-the-scenes story of his rise to fame for the very first time. Orelsan is produced by Nolita TV and Troisième OEil Productions (Mediawan group) and will be broadcast exclusively on Prime Video in France from 2021.
Orelsan will offer an unprecedented and intimate immersion into the world and life of the artist. It's a unique story of a road to success marked by obstacles, surprises and the difficulty of staying on top once you've reached it. Orelsan reveals the successes and failures of a man and an artist, revealing a side of the rapper that only those closest to him know. Clément Cotentin (Bloqués) will co-direct this original production alongside Christophe Offenstein (Les Petits Mouchoirs, Blood Ties, Comment c'est loin).
"Orelsan is an extremely talented artist, but his fans don't know much about him," said Georgia Brown, Creative Director of Amazon Originals Europe for Amazon Studios. "We're thrilled to bring Orelsan to Prime members in France because this documentary will allow fans of the artist to get to know him better and subtly show what the path to success looks like."
"Orelsan's story is unique, and this original production will be just as unique. Orelsan has opened the doors to his story like few do, an exceptional story that is sure to delight our Prime members," continued Thomas Dubois, Director of Amazon Originals France for Amazon Studios.
