By Mulder, 16 february 2021

As part of the Disney+ offering in France and Europe, Star will offer more than 40 series, nearly 250 films and 4 exclusive Star Originals productions as of February 23rd. Other content will be added to the offer as the months go by. As Disney+'s 6th world, Star will offer thousands of hours of films and series created by the group's various studios - including Disney Television Studios (20th Television and ABC Signature), FX Productions, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Studios - in addition to locally produced content.

With the arrival of Star, Disney+ is more than ever the destination where everyone is sure to find the program that suits them, whatever their tastes or desires of the moment, offering works that are ever more audacious, surprising, captivating or irreverent. Disney+ subscribers will have access to an even wider choice of films and series, and even to nuggets that can't be found elsewhere.

A reference platform for all audiences, with films, series, short programs and original productions from the emblematic Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and now Star brands. New and previously unpublished products will regularly be added to the current offering. Exclusive Disney+ Originals or Star Originals productions. In the coming years, Disney+ plans to add more than fifty new Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star releases to the platform, not to mention European and local productions created especially for Disney+ or Star, whether or not they are intended for a family audience.

Reinforced parental control. In order to appeal to the greatest number of people while respecting the integrity of the youngest, Disney+ will offer enhanced parental control, in addition to the existing children's profiles. Thanks to the implementation of a confidential PIN code, it will be possible for parents to create and manage the profiles of each member of the household and to limit access to certain content according to the recommended viewing age.

Disney+ is a family streaming service that can be used safely by younger children. To reassure parents, easy-to-use controls have been implemented on all the platform's content. With the integration of Star, they will be able to restrict access to some of them (by making them invisible) based on age recommendations or by creating profiles locked by a PIN code to allow children to navigate in a totally secure universe.

When subscribers access the world of Star for the first time on Disney+, they will be asked if they wish to access its content, offering the possibility of adapting viewings according to recommended ages (14+, 16+ or 18+). These profiles can be modified at any time, and only 18+ viewers will have access to the entire catalog. Subscribers will also be able to add a PIN code to their profiles for additional protection. When switching to new profiles, Star content will be displayed on the Disney+ home page in the categories "New to Disney+", "Our selection for you", "Trends", etc. The new Parental Controls settings will be available upon Star's launch on February 23, 2021.

Age classification allows parents and children to accurately identify films and series for all audiences. Since Disney+ is above all a family platform, the service offers to restrict the access of children's profiles to certain content, in particular to content from Star, the new world of Disney+. Each profile on the platform can be adapted according to age recommendations (6+,9+,12+,14+,16+,18+), so that everyone has access to the most relevant content. By default (i.e., without any adjustment on the part of the subscriber), Disney+ profiles only display 14+ content.

The "child profile" is specially created for a young audience, in terms of colors, shapes, ergonomics, entry by characters and not by brands, as well as the choice and curation of content. Indeed, this profile allows them to access their favorite programs in a totally secure environment. To prevent younger children from accessing less family-friendly content, the account owner can decide to secure each of the profiles from 14+ with a PIN code that will be requested at each use.

If the holder decides not to modify his Disney+ account, he remains in 14+ mode by default. He can switch it to 18+ mode at any time, in order to access all Star content. The age classifications advise both parents and children on both series and movies. All content on Disney+ is based on NICAM ratings.

From its launch, Disney+ will be the only destination for discovering Star Originals productions, aimed at a wider audience than the family circle. Among the first titles offered in Europe is the thriller Big Sky created by David E. Kelley (Big little lies, The undoing); the series Love, Victor (derived from Love, Simon), written by the film's writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger (This is Us); the adult animated sitcom Solar opposites, created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty); and the drama series Helstrom, produced by Paul Zbyszewski alongside Karim Zreik and Jeph Loeb. In the coming years, Disney+ plans to add more than fifty new Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Star releases to the platform, not to mention local productions created especially for the Disney+ or Star brands, depending on whether they are intended for a more or less family audience.
