"A first film, without compromise... a short film with all the production values of an important feature film" - BBC London News

Talash Video Centre in association with Digital Boulevard, Twelve Corner Productions and China House Arts, is proud to officially announce the international VOD release of the British science fiction short film Cognition with Andrew Scott (1917, Fleabag, Spectre) and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, Treadstone, The Ways of Destiny) as the bafta winners. The on-demand film will be available on iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play and YouTube Premium on February 2, 2021. The original English-language version will be accompanied by subtitles in German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Russian covering its availability in 92 countries around the world.

Cognition had the rare privilege of a public premiere and a three-week release at the Archlight cinema, part of the iconic Battersea power station complex in London in November 2020. Produced and directed by Ravi Ajit Chopra, Cognition is a dystopian science fiction short film about a son confronted with his past. Travelling through the meanders of the subconscious, the story follows the inseparable bond between a father and his son. A link that transcends space and time. This short, uncompromising science fiction drama merges two distant worlds into an emotionally charged roller coaster that will propel you into the darkest meanders of the subconscious.

The shooting took place in the emblematic Battersea power station in London. Cognition was the last film to be shot in this Category II* listed building during its major redevelopment. The filming was made possible thanks to the support of various BBC departments and the use of the BBC News helicopter for breathtaking aerial shots and a beautiful soundtrack played by the 55-piece BBC orchestra recorded at the Air Studios in London.

Composer Samuel Karl Bohn composed the music for the film and the famous Universal Creations (Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy) chief designers designed the sets and key props. Emmy Award-winning Stuart McCowan and his team composed a powerful score recorded at Twickenham Film Studios with Dolby Atmos sound from Abbey Road Studios. Various special effects companies, including Emmy Award-winning Peerless, Bandito Studios, Territory Studios and Foundry, helped create the 350 special effects shots. Technicolor worked on the film early for a year to bring its magic to the VFX visual effects, calibration and retouching.

Director and producer Ravi Ajit Chopra said: "Cognition" is a very personal film for me. I have always been fascinated by the meanders of the subconscious mind but also by confronting one's trauma / demons and following one's dreams. I hope that the public will adhere to this roller coaster rich in strong emotions." Cognition will be available in 9 languages in 92 countries from February 2, 2021 Apple iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play and YouTube Premium.
