“It’s a thrill to be working on Invincible action figures for the new animated series,” said DST president Chuck Terceira. “The comic was groundbreaking, and the animated version should be unlike anything that has been seen before. It’s the perfect time to launch a toy line, and I think collectors will be very happy with the product we’ve developed.”
Today, Skybound Entertainment and Diamond Select Toys announced new Invicible action figures hitting stores in Summer 2021. From the Skybound/Image superhero comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, the new line will feature Invincible and his father Omni-Man, each with interchangeable parts and accessories.
The figures will stand at seven inches, and each will come with a second angry head, multiple interchangeable hands, and baseball gloves. Invincible will come with a baseball and a Reanimen head, while Omni-Man will come with a chunk of concrete and a Flaxan arm. Each figure will feature approximately 18 points of articulation.
By the creator of The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman, the series is based on the Skybound/Image comic book written by Kirkman Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Invincible tells the life story of 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), a teenager like any other except that his father, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), is the most powerful superhero on the planet. As Mark develops his own powers, he discovers that his father's legend may not be as heroic as he thought.
Invincible also stars Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Seth Rogen (This is the End), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Andrew Rannells (Black Monday, Girls), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Mark Hamill (Star Wars : The Last Jedi), Walton Goggins (Justified), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Mae Whitman (Good Girls), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Melise (The Flash), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons), Grey Griffin (Avengers Rally), Max Burkholder (Blush). .
Invincible is produced by Skybound and Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert (The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead), Catherine Winder (Angry Birds Le Film, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) with directors Justin Allen & Chris Copeland (Avengers Gathering, Ultimate Spider-Man) and Linda Lamontagne, Casting Director. Invincible, Kirkman's second longest comic book, ended in February 2018, after 15 years.
Available for pre-order through comic shops and specialty stores on December 23rd, the accessory-packed figures will arrive in summer of 2021, with streamlined versions coming to Walgreens stores.
