By Mulder, 18 december 2020

Director Bertrand Bonello will chair the Feature Film Jury of the 28th edition of the Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival. Actor Pio Marmaï will be president of the Short Film Jury. Rendez-vous from Wednesday, January 27 noon to Sunday, January 31 midnight for this exceptional edition of the festival online. On the web, nobody will hear you scream...

The next edition of the Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival will be held from January 27 to 31, 2021 and will be a special online edition. Fantastic cinema has always anticipated reality like no other art. This edition will cover all sections of the festival, as in previous years: the competition, exclusive previews, the offbeat night, Retromania and its cult films, short films and meetings with all the festival's guests.

From 1994, the Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival takes over the torch of the late Avoriaz International Fantastic Film Festival. Called "Fantastica" until 1996, it later takes the name Fantastic'Arts, emphasizing its openness to other artistic forms than cinema. Indeed, it organized competitions for fantastic drawings and short stories and instituted prizes for window decorations. From the 2009 edition, the festival takes the usual name of Festival du film fantastique de Gérardmer or simply Festival de Gérardmer.

All the juries will be present: the critics' jury, the short film jury, the youth jury and of course the feature film jury. Festival-goers will also be able to vote for their favorite film and award their prize as they do every year. The films will be visible via a dedicated platform, developed by our partners for this unique edition, Festival Scope and Shift72.

Access to the film viewing platform will be via the official festival website www.festival-gerardmer.com. Once started, the film will be available for 24 hours. The films will be available in their original version with French subtitles and will only be accessible from France. You will be able to watch the films on PCs from Windows 7 and above, and on Macs from OSX 10.12 and above, using Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer or Opera. We recommend using the latest versions of these browsers. All movies are not suitable for children under 16 years of age, unless otherwise stated on the movie pages. The possible viewing times will be indicated on the platform on each of the film pages.
