Movies - The Elfkins : Baking a difference at the cinema on December 16 in France

By Mulder, 02 december 2020

This animated film by Ute von Münchow-Pohl, distributed in France by KMBO, takes young and old alike into a world full of greed and fantasy. Perfect to launch the holiday season with the family, the film is to be released in theaters from December 16, 2020.

If animated films transport us to a wonderful world, the same can be said of pastry making. This delicate art of indulgence makes it possible to savor, at any age, creations that become memories full of magic. The opportunity to get together, with family or friends, to taste a strawberry tart, a lightning bolt or a millefeuille and thus share a special and convivial moment.

The Elfkins : Baking a difference captures this fairy-tale dimension of pastry making by drawing us into a world of poetry and mischievous little characters. Pastry also contributes to forging intergenerational links: these fine desserts bring together young and old around the table, but also around the stoves! In pastry making, we measure the importance of repeating in the present tense gestures and impressions linked to the sinking through recipes that are passed on from generation to generation.

The importance of sharing and transmission is the message relayed by The Elfkins : Baking a difference, which features the help given by a young elf to an elderly pastry chef, showing a friendship that transcends ages and worlds. In her quest to save Max's small craft store from unfair competition from the old pastry chef's brother's cake factory, Elfie will be able to count on the invaluable help of ingenious Tom and his loyal best friend Sam. Together, through their willingness to act for a just cause and their desire to help others, the trio will find a solution to all problems. There is strength in numbers! The Elfkins : Baking a difference illustrates the importance of friendship - and not just when things go wrong. It fills the heart and fills us with joy and hope. It's a guarantee of a certain idea of happiness ...
