"As we move into a new era, we need to be innovative and ensure that we can continue to do business while listening to our fans," said Ann Sarnoff, CEO of WarnerMedia Studios and the Networks Group.

Wonder Woman 1984 is directed by Patty Jenkins and co-written with Geoff Johns and David Callaham. It is the ninth film in the DC film universe and the sequel to Wonder Woman by the same director released in 2017. The cast includes Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen already present in the first part but also Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal. The action of this second part takes place in 1984 as its title indicates it and Wonder Woman will have to face new threats while finding Steve Trevor who should logically be dead...

Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in theaters in France on December 16 (provided, of course, that the theaters are confirmed to be open on that date). This is the much-anticipated sequel to the adventures of Diana Prince alias Wonder Woman, whose first film had attracted nearly 2.2 million viewers in France when it was released in June 2017. In the United States, it will be available on the big screen on December 25, at the same time as it will be broadcast on the HBO Max streaming platform. The film will be available for one month on HBO Max in the U.S. at no additional cost to subscribers. In the rest of the world, the film will also be released in theaters starting December 16, wherever possible.

"We know how patient the audience has been and, given the immense anticipation of Wonder Woman 1984, we are very pleased to be able to distribute this tremendously entertaining film in these difficult times," Toby Emmerich, CEO of Warner Bros. Pictures Group.

After the First World War, let's head for the 80's! This time, Wonder Woman faces two new and particularly formidable enemies: Max Lord and Cheetah Suite from Wonder Woman, which had generated $822 million in worldwide revenues in 2017, Wonder Woman 1984 is once again played by Gal Gadot in the title role and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. Also cast are Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Stephen Jones are producers of the film, while Rebecca Steel Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Marianne Jenkins, Geoff Johns, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Wesley Coller are executive producers.

Patty Jenkins is directing from a script she co-wrote with Geoff Johns & David Callaham, based on the DC Comics characters. The director reunites with several of her collaborators from the previous episode, including cinematographer Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated cinematographer Aline Bonetto and Oscar-nominated costume designer Lindy Hemming. She entrusted the editing to Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson. The music is by Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer.

During the San Diego Comic 2018, I was fortunate enough to attend the Warner Bros. panel on the 1984 film Wonder Woman. The trailer we had discovered was not exactly the same despite several scenes already in it. You can discover my pictures on our official Flickr page here : https://flic.kr/s/aHsmg3HVpS.
