Serie - Animaniacs : A successful season 6 which finds all the charm 22 years later

By Mulder, 23 october 2020

After a 22-year hiatus, the beloved cartoon series makes a glorious return to Hulu starting November 20, and the Warner Brothers are better than ever with brand new music by veteran composers from the original series, Julie & Steven Bernstein.

We were thus able to discover five of the thirteen episodes that make up this sixth season, and what a pleasure it was to return with nostalgia to these people who marked our memories in the 90s. Hailed by critics as excellent family entertainment, the first five seasons were based not only on quality animation but also on an unbridled sense of humour conducive to numerous gags and cartoons from the film world.

This new season continues in the same vein as previous seasons, revisiting classic films (notably Jurassic Park), making fun of famous personalities and highlighting the inseparable Yakko, Wakko and Dot. This new season also allows us to rediscover the characters Pinky and the Brain and many others.

These new episodes continue to be cut in three parts allowing us to find many characters for the best and for laughing. This allows each episode to be based on an exciting rhythm and above all to appeal to a wide audience whether young or adult. Animaniacs uses a lot of visual gags which gives different levels of reading.

Music continues to occupy an important place as practically one of the characters in this cult animated series. It is therefore with great pleasure that we find again Julie and Steven Bernstein who had collaborated on the previous seasons. Always as inspired as ever, they give this new season the same aura as the previous ones and we look forward to this new season with the same pleasure.

Synopsis :
The Warner brothers and sisters live in the water tower of the Warner Bros. studio in Burbank, California. However, the characters in the series have had episodes in different places and at different times. The Animaniacs' characters have interacted with famous people and creators from the past and present, as well as mythological characters and characters from contemporary pop culture and television. Andrea Romano, director of casting and recording for the Animaniacs, said that the Warner brothers and sisters served the function of "tying the series together" by appearing in and introducing segments of the other characters. Each episode of Animaniacs typically consisted of two or three short cartoon films. The Animaniacs segments varied in length, from transition segments of less than a minute to episodes covering the entire series; screenwriter Peter Hastings said the different lengths of the episodes gave the series a "comedic sketch" feel.
