Festivals - FCAD 2020: Minari in opening film

The organizers of the festival wished to open this festival with Minari, the film of the competition, in order to affirm this one as a priority. Moreover, this work with its Fordian accents asserts its desire for a demanding and popular cinema.

In July 2019, it was announced that Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri, Youn Yuh-Jung, Will Patton and Scott Haze had joined the film's cast, with Plan B Entertainment producing the film and A24 handling distribution. The main shooting began in July 2019. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2020. Minari received positive reviews from film critics. It holds a 100% approval rating on the Rotten Tomatoes critics aggregator website, based on 26 reviews, with a weighted average of 9.08/10.

Synopsis :
An American family of South Korean origin moves to Arkansas where the father wants to become a farmer. His little boy will have to get used to this new life, and to the presence of a Korean grandmother he didn't know.
