Movies - Aladdin : more than a simply remake, just a great adventure movie

Disney has been making many live-action remakes of classic movies such as Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, and soon, The Lion King. Many fans are not happy with so many remakes, with many saying they can never be as good as the originals. Some fans speculate Disney's main motive for all these remakes is to make a profit. Fans started criticizing the new Aladdin remake months before the movie even came out in theaters. Fans were upset when they saw the Genie in the first trailers. Will Smith played the role of the Genie in the 2019 film. They believed that the Genie looked too human or too blue.

However, once the full movie came out, there were many positive reviews. Many fans admitted that the movie exceeded their expectations. The film received a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. They were happy with the film's musical numbers, costumes, and beautiful sets. Even though the 2019 remake is based on the 1992 classic, there are a few small changes in the film. For example, Jafar's parrot, Iago, has a much smaller role in the 2019 film than the original. There are also new characters such as Jasmine's handmaiden, Dalia. And best of all, a new song!

Princess Jasmine, (played by Naomi Scott) sings a new song called "Speechless", not included in the original film. The song is about how she wants to have her voice heard in Agrabah. After the song is finished she has the courage to confront the palace guards and convince them to help defeat Jafar. I feel as if the story was retold well, with some changes to make it a little more original and interesting. The new song was definitely one of my favorite parts of the film.
