Warner Bros. just announced that the role of Conner Kent, a.k.a. Superboy in the second season of Titans will be played by Joshua Orphin. We were waiting for this news because if you watched the entire first season of Titans, you knew what’s coming for its second season.
Read carefully and at your own risk, because beyond this, there are spoilers for the first season finale of Titans and its after-credits scene. Conner Kent is a clone of half of the DNA of Superman, and the other half is human DNA, made by Project Cadmus and raised as a weapon or substitute of Superman. In two of the mentioned iterations, the human part was extracted from Lex Luthor’s DNA, but it’s unknown whether or not the story will repeat on Titans.
We could watch in the after credits scene that Somewhere in Metropolis (an instant nod to Superman), in a laboratory the “subject 13” is offline and is seen walking naked, just broke out of his pod while the scientist working at Cadmus (the name is written in one of the walls of the lab) are laying on the ground, injured or worst. The beefy subject goes to another room and rescues a dog with “glowing” eyes. With both signs, we can only assume that they were Conner Kent’s Superboy and Krypto.
Could this be the year of Superboy? On 2019 will have three different interpretations of the first Superboy known as Conner Kent; from his first appearance on a DC animated movie “Reign of the Supermen”, his return and more mature portrayal yet in “Young Justice: Outsiders”, and finally his first time on a DC Universe original live-action show. Also, Conner is back in the comic universe after a long absence, with the Young Justice Team.
