Paris Games Week 2026 : Marvel’s Wolverine on PS5 Pro

Paris Games Week 2026 : Marvel’s Wolverine Takes Centre Stage

Wednesday 21 October, 2:45 PM PT Paris, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Paris, France; Sony Interactive Entertainment France, booth B4 2026-10-21 → 2026-10-25

Marvel’s Wolverine is a focal point of Sony’s presence at Paris Games Week 2026, bringing Insomniac Games’ action adventure to visitors through a playable PS5 Pro experience. The public exhibition runs from October 22 to 25, with Fnac presenting the game alongside activities built around its clawed protagonist.

There is a useful distinction in the event’s listings. The official exhibitor directory identifies Sony Interactive Entertainment France at booth B4 in PGW Gaming, while the programme explicitly places the Wolverine photo opportunity in the Fnac Marvel’s Wolverine space. Visitors searching only for a large PlayStation-branded showcase could therefore overlook the relevant listing.

PS5 Pro gameplay brings the claws within reach

The organisers advertise Marvel’s Wolverine as playable on PS5 Pro. This is a chance to try a game already released on September 15, 2026, rather than a first public unveiling of an unreleased title. That timing gives the Paris appearance a different purpose: visitors can assess the experience directly after launch, using a demonstration to inform their interest in the full adventure.

The hardware distinction also matters. PlayStation lists the game for PS5 and labels it PS5 Pro Enhanced, so the show’s use of the more powerful console does not mean ownership of a PS5 Pro is required to play at home. The official product page identifies a single-player experience, with offline play enabled and support for the DualSense controller’s vibration and trigger effects. Those confirmed features describe the retail game; the published event listing does not specify the demonstration’s graphics settings or session length.

The Wolverine Challenge extends the experience beyond the controller

Alongside the playable stations, the official programme advertises the Marvel’s Wolverine Challenge, inviting participants to test their rage level and share a video. A separate photo opportunity completes the character-focused offering. All three appear as continuous activities, making them recurring attractions rather than a single scheduled stage presentation.

There is a clear promotional logic to this format: playing introduces the game, while the challenge and photograph give that encounter a social dimension. It also fits Fnac’s description of its wider presence at the show’s fifteenth edition, branded the Playground Edition, as a place to play, discover products and explore different forms of gaming.

From a Spider-Man conversation to a darker Marvel adventure

One revealing development anecdote predates the claws and combat footage. In Insomniac’s September 2021 announcement, Ryan Schneider explained that Wolverine repeatedly came up during conversations between the studio, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Marvel while the original Marvel’s Spider-Man was being developed. The idea eventually became a formal pitch. The studio’s interest was rooted partly in a shared instinct between the two heroes: protecting people unable to defend themselves.

That origin offers a useful perspective on the finished concept. Insomniac did not describe its attraction to Wolverine solely in terms of violence; it also identified the moral impulse beneath the character’s aggression. Announced alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in September 2021, the standalone project gave the developer another way to explore heroism.

Liam McIntyre brings humanity to Wolverine’s brutality

Insomniac’s official presentation identifies Liam McIntyre as the actor behind Wolverine and frames the adventure around a search for an elusive past. Its announced locations include the fictional island nation of Madripoor, Canada’s frozen wilderness and Tokyo’s narrow streets. These settings provide a broader canvas than a single city, while the character’s healing ability and adamantium claws underpin the studio’s emphasis on close, destructive combat.

An interview with Entertainment Weekly supplies an unusually vivid glimpse of the performance work. Liam McIntyre described returning to animal-based acting exercises and searching for footage of rabid dogs while developing the character’s feral side. He also recalled being nervous about pushing the performance too far during motion capture, before finding confidence through the team’s support. The anecdote illuminates the work behind the spectacle: creating believable loss of control requires deliberate choices and trust between performer and developers.

Combat and accessibility give visitors more to consider

Insomniac’s August 2026 feature overview describes combat built around aggressive momentum, mixing claws, kicks, barrages and critical strikes. It also details New Game Plus, Mission Replay, Nightmare Challenges and Photo Mode, with the latter available through a day-one update. These features belong to the full release; they should not be mistaken for a promise that every mode can be explored during the Paris Games Week demonstration.

The same official overview highlights more than 100 new, returning and improved accessibility features, including high-contrast visuals, English audio description, adjustable global game speed and strong haptic signals. Separate options alter dynamic blood and dismemberment, alongside an English-language profanity filter.
