There is a useful distinction for gift buyers: LEGO confirms that All-in-One sets include the SMART Brick and charger, while Compatible sets require a brick from an All-in-One set to activate their interactive features. Children do not need an app for play; a separate adult companion app manages settings and updates.

The adult Pokémon selection takes a different form. Pikachu and Poké Ball (72152), listed at €199.99, incorporates the number 25 into its display, referencing Pikachu’s Pokédex number. The articulated Eevee (72151), at €59.99, has movable ears, limbs and a tail.

Retro gaming turns familiar controls into building features

The SEGA Mega Drive model (40926), at €39.99, can be configured as either the Mega Drive or Genesis, with two detachable controllers.

Donkey Kong Arcade (72051), listed at €169.99, gives nostalgia a mechanical dimension. A lever releases a barrel, while a joystick and button move Jumpman and make him jump over obstacles. Elsewhere, Arcade Pinball Machine (11374), at €209.99, features a spring-loaded launcher, two flippers, rotating bumpers and a ramp: the finished build becomes something to operate.

Cinema collectibles hide stories inside the models

Film fans have a particularly varied selection. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (21370), listed at €129.99, features a head that turns through 360 degrees and adjustable arms, wrists and fingers. The Toy Story Slinky Dog Bookends (43301), at €149.99, combine fabric ears and articulated legs with two removable books. One conceals a small Slinky Dog character; the other reveals a Woody minifigure through a secret button.

The Back to the Future Time Machine (77256), listed at €27.99, includes Emmett Brown and Marty McFly and can switch into flying-car configuration by repositioning its wheels and adding Mr. Fusion. At the collector end, the Harry Potter set 76466, listed at €159.99, marks the first film’s 25th anniversary with a buildable Hedwig and minifigures of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.

Tintin and museum masterpieces reward a closer look

The Tintin Moon Rocket (21367), listed at €159.99, recreates the red-and-white spacecraft from Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon, accompanied by five spacesuited minifigures and Snowy. Official product information adds a delightful narrative touch: removing a panel reveals a control room where a character can recreate the crew’s first view of Earth from space. The 1,283-piece model stands over 49 cm tall.

For Claude Monet – Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies (31220), listed at €199.99, the collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art goes beyond reproducing an image. The 3,179-piece artwork uses elements including butterflies, bananas, swords and shields to reinterpret the painting’s textures. The instructions also link to a podcast featuring a museum curator, adding context to the building experience.

Gustav Klimt – The Kiss (31221), at €299.99 had been developed with Vienna’s Belvedere museum, and Sagrada Família (21065), at €749.99. The latter is described in the press kit as a 12,060-piece construction and the largest LEGO set to date. Tulip Bouquet (11501), at €59.99, offers a smaller display project with five tulip varieties represented at different flowering stages.

Christmas gifts for younger builders and motorsport fans

Younger children remain central to the selection. The 3-in-1 Modern Family House (10470), listed at €79.99 and marked for ages two and up, recreates the domestic world of Peppa Pig.
