SDCC 2026 : Mezco Toyz Unleashes a Huge One:12 Collector Showcase

Mezco Toyz used San Diego Comic-Con 2026 as more than a display window: Booth #3045 became a compact map of the company’s collector strategy, mixing premium One:12 Collective figures, retro-styled 5 Points releases, Living Dead Dolls and convention exclusives. Comic-Con officially ran July 23–26 at the San Diego Convention Center, after Preview Night on July 22. Alongside the physical booth, MezcoCon 2026 extended the reveal cycle online, creating an unusual two-track presentation in which some projects appeared as prototypes in San Diego while others were introduced digitally.

ThunderCats finally take shape in the One:12 Collective

The biggest symbolic reveal was arguably Lion-O, the first substantial physical demonstration of how ThunderCats will translate into Mezco’s One:12 Collective format. The painted prototype displayed at Booth #3045 carried the hero’s orange-and-blue design and the Sword of Omens, while combining sculpted elements with the tailored-costume approach associated with One:12. At the convention it remained a preview marked “Coming Soon” and pending licensor approval, with no confirmed retail price, preorder date or shipping window. That distinction matters: the figure was a development-stage showcase rather than a finalized retail solicitation.

The reveal also carried some history. Mezco Toyz has produced ThunderCats collectibles before, but One:12 gives the property a different premium vocabulary built around articulation, fabric costumes and character-specific accessories. MezcoCon then revealed Mumm-Ra, signalling that the project is intended to reach beyond a single hero. Unlike Lion-O, however, Mumm-Ra was presented through promotional imagery rather than as a comparable booth prototype. ThunderCats also appeared in the 5 Points range, where Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living and Ma-Mutt joined the lineup in a deliberately retro, lower-articulation style.

DC brings Peacemaker, Solomon Grundy and Batman power

DC was one of the strongest pillars of the showcase. One:12 Collective Peacemaker, based on John Cena’s portrayal of Christopher Smith, has since advanced from reveal to full retail solicitation. Mezco lists the figure at $116 with an expected February–April 2027 shipping window. The production specifications include more than 30 points of articulation, four head portraits based on John Cena, interchangeable eyes and mouths, three helmets, fourteen hands and a broad weapons loadout. Most importantly for the character, Eagly is included, turning what could have been a straightforward costume recreation into a more personality-driven display piece.

Solomon Grundy provides the opposite kind of visual impact. Mezco’s production listing places the oversized figure at approximately 20 cm tall with more than 32 points of articulation, three portraits, distressed clothing and a wonderfully excessive tree trunk weapon. Priced at $120, it is listed for an estimated December 2026–February 2027 shipping period. The figure demonstrates why One:12 can work especially well for characters whose identity depends on silhouette and clothing: Solomon Grundy looks deliberately massive and ragged beside cleaner superhero designs.

Batman remained equally important. The booth featured a new One:12 interpretation inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, bringing the older, heavier version of the character back into a format closely associated with Mezco’s early One:12 identity. The company also offered convention exclusives including One:12 Collective Batman: The Animated Series – Blue & Gray Edition, alongside Doc Nocturnal: Phantom Knight Edition, Hoodz: Letterman – Throwback Edition and the 5 Points Batman (1989) “I’m Batman” Boxed Set. The source material supplied for this report notes that the Blue & Gray Batman sold out at the convention after early attendee lines.

Marvel expands from Kingpin to Daredevil and Blade

Marvel’s side of MezcoCon connected street-level crime with the supernatural. One:12 Collective Wilson Fisk, better known as Kingpin, is now listed by Mezco at $145 with shipping expected from February through April 2027. At roughly 18 cm tall, the figure uses a specialized broad body beneath a tailored three-piece suit and includes five portraits, a cane with interchangeable laser and gas effects, a katana and a removable wristwatch. It is a character unusually well suited to the format because tailoring and sheer physical mass are essential to making Wilson Fisk look different from a standard six-inch-scale figure.

A new One:12 Daredevil was revealed during MezcoCon, creating an obvious display pairing with Kingpin, although the convention announcement did not yet provide a complete production specification, price or release schedule. One:12 Collective Marvel’s Midnight Suns – Blade pushed in another direction, using the video-game branding to revisit Marvel’s vampire hunter through a costume-and-weapons-heavy format. As with several SDCC previews, collectors should separate an announced character from a fully solicited product: promotional art or a prototype can establish intent without confirming the final accessory list, price or delivery window.

Living Dead Dolls keeps horror at the heart of Mezco

The Living Dead Dolls side of the presentation showed that horror remains central to Mezco Toyz even as One:12 dominates its premium action-figure identity. Jack Skellington and Sally from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas were revealed for Living Dead Dolls Presents, a natural fit for a line built around stylized proportions and gothic imagery. The pair had also been teased around Booth #3045, giving convention visitors a bridge between the physical display and the wider MezcoCon reveal program.

Living Dead Dolls Presents: IT – Welcome to Derry brought Pennywise back into Mezco’s horror catalogue in a version connected to the HBO television prequel. Mezco currently lists the doll at $60 with expected shipping from February through April 2027. The same price and shipping window apply to Living Dead Dolls Presents House of 1000 Corpses: Captain Spaulding, the character portrayed by Sid Haig in Rob Zombie’s film. The production doll stands about ten inches tall, has five points of articulation and comes in the familiar die-cut window-box presentation.

Mezco’s exclusives show the strength of its own characters

Licensed properties did not completely overshadow Mezco’s original universe. One:12 Collective Doc Nocturnal: Phantom Knight Edition reimagined the supernatural hunter through a medieval-gothic lens, combining armor, blades, spiked crucifixes, grenades, a war hammer and the Ferryman sidearm. Mezco lists the edition at $120. Hoodz: Letterman – Throwback Edition similarly kept the company’s internally developed mythology visible beside Batman, Marvel and ThunderCats, reinforcing how properties associated with Rumble Society have become part of Mezco’s broader collector ecosystem rather than occasional side projects.

That balance is significant for a company founded by Michael Markowitz and built around both licensed and original collectibles. The SDCC booth did not behave like a single-franchise activation. Instead, it moved rapidly between mainstream superheroes, animation, cult horror and Mezco-created characters, with 5 Points offering a more retro alternative to One:12 and Living Dead Dolls maintaining the company’s macabre roots. The result was a booth where the variety itself became the message.

The key lesson from MezcoCon 2026: reveal does not always mean preorder

One of the most useful ways to read Mezco’s SDCC 2026 presentation is to separate three stages: digital announcement, physical prototype and finalized solicitation. Lion-O was physically displayed but still lacked final retail details; Mumm-Ra was revealed digitally; Peacemaker, Solomon Grundy and Kingpin have since received detailed product pages with prices and shipping estimates. That progression explains why convention photography can show an exciting future lineup without every item being immediately orderable in the same form.

For collectors, that also makes the event more interesting than a simple catalogue dump. Mezco Toyz used SDCC and MezcoCon together as a development pipeline in public: tease the character, show the physical interpretation when ready, then publish the production configuration later. With ThunderCats entering both One:12 and 5 Points, DC expanding through Peacemaker, Solomon Grundy and Batman, Marvel adding Kingpin, Daredevil and Blade, and Living Dead Dolls embracing The Nightmare Before Christmas, Welcome to Derry and House of 1000 Corpses, the company left San Diego with an unusually broad slate.
