On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the Pathé La Villette cinema in Paris hosted the French premiere of Paw Patrol: The Movie : Dino Mission, the third feature film inspired by Keith Chapman’s famous franchise. Our media team was on hand to cover an event where the world of the famous canine brigade met a true French pop phenomenon: the full-fledged return of L5. While Cal Brunker’s film takes young viewers to a mysterious island populated by dinosaurs, the Paris event also felt like a family reunion for an entire generation that grew up in the early 2000s.

The atmosphere was particularly warm when Alexandra Canto, Claire Litvine, Coralie Gelle, Louisy Joseph, and Marjorie Parascandola took the stage to discuss their involvement in the film. The five artists don’t just perform the official French theme song, Encore et Encore (Toi tu es là); each also lends her voice to a key female character in this new adventure. Alexandra Canto voices Eugénie, a research assistant; Claire Litvine plays Harper Finelame, the main antagonist; Coralie Gelle voices Nancy; Louisy Joseph plays the journalist Liliane Lédito; and Marjorie Parascandola voices Heidi Pothèse, a seasoned scientist. During their interviews with the press, the five singers spoke enthusiastically about the joy of collaborating on a project together once again, as well as the excitement of discovering the world of voice acting—an experience very different from performing on stage or in the recording studio.

This collaboration holds symbolic significance far beyond a simple vocal casting. For the first time in over twenty years, the original lineup of L5 is participating in a brand-new project bringing together all five founding members. Not even anniversary specials or previous reunions had managed to sustain this lineup for any length of time. This comeback comes twenty-five years after the group’s formation during the first season of Popstars on M6, a show that left a profound mark on the French music industry. With over 4.4 million records sold and iconic hits like Toutes les femmes de ta vie, Une Étincelle, and Maniac, L5 remains one of the most popular all-female groups in French pop. This artistic choice is by no means insignificant. The producers are clearly capitalizing on the intergenerational connection. Today’s children are discovering the adventures of the Paw Patrol, while their parents are rediscovering the voices that accompanied their teenage years. This dual perspective is central to the project: internationally, the soundtrack also features the Backstreet Boys with the track “Bottle Up,” while the French-language version highlights L5. These two iconic groups from the 1990s and 2000s embody a shared desire to bring parents and children together for a family event.

On the big screen, Paw Patrol: The Movie—Dino Mission continues the strategy implemented by Spin Master Entertainment following the success of the two previous films. Directed once again by Cal Brunker, from a screenplay co-written with Bob Barlen, the feature film takes Ryder and his famous pups to an unexplored tropical island populated by dinosaurs. Alongside Rex, an expert on these prehistoric animals, they must stop Mr. Hellinger from exploiting the island’s natural resources—an endeavor that will trigger the awakening of a gigantic volcano. The film maintains the balance that has made the franchise a success: spectacular adventures, humor, teamwork, and a focus on environmental conservation. Its French release is set for August 5, 2026, with a runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes.

However, the film’s production was not without its challenges. Although the project had been announced as early as 2023—even before the release of the previous installment—financial difficulties at the Technicolor group in 2025 led to the shutdown of Mikros Image, the studio responsible for the animation. The Parisian and Canadian teams were ultimately taken over by Rodeo FX, allowing the feature film to be completed on schedule. This continuity in production illustrates the strategic importance of the franchise for Spin Master Entertainment, Nickelodeon Movies, and Paramount Pictures, which continue to develop one of the world’s most powerful children’s franchises.

The Paris premiere ultimately demonstrated that Paw Patrol: The Movie—Dino Mission is more than just a new adventure aimed at young children. Thanks to the presence of L5, the film takes on an unexpected generational dimension, bringing together in the same theater children eager to reunite with their favorite heroes and adults delighted to see a group that defined the 2000s. Rarely has a family-friendly production placed such a strong emphasis on this interplay between nostalgia and modernity, making this Parisian evening a true moment of shared enjoyment where music, animated film, and memories came together naturally.

Synopsis:
When a mysterious storm catches their ship off guard, the PAW Patrol washes ashore on an unexplored tropical island… populated by dinosaurs! There, they meet Rex, a brave puppy who has lived on the island for years and has become a true dinosaur expert. But their longtime enemy, Mr. Hellinger, also arrives on the island with a dangerous plan: to exploit its natural resources by digging mines. His reckless actions soon trigger the eruption of a gigantic dormant volcano. The PAW Patrol then finds itself caught up in a series of spectacular rescue missions, more impressive than anything they’ve ever experienced. They’ll have to stop Mr. Hellinger and save the island before it’s too late.
