The Loyal Subjects and TLS Toys turned Booth #2544 at the San Diego Convention Center into a veritable time machine during San Diego Comic-Con 2025, drawing fans into an immersive celebration of toy nostalgia. From the first glance, it was clear this was not just a display — it was a love letter to the Saturday mornings and toy aisles of the 1980s, with a sprinkle of 1990s charm for good measure. Every shelf seemed to overflow with vibrant colors, retro-inspired designs, and exclusives that had collectors pressing in close to admire the craftsmanship. The photos from the booth capture the warmth and excitement in full: aisles crowded with attendees in cosplay stopping to point out familiar characters, the twinkle in a collector’s eyes as they spotted a long-lost childhood favorite, and the careful attention to detail in every package, from metallic finishes to vintage art re-creations.

Central to the buzz was the impressive lineup of exclusives that blended beloved franchises with The Loyal Subjects’ signature design upgrades. The M.A.S.K. Mobile Defense Unit, reimagined in a striking magenta finish with retro striping, stood proudly alongside its packaging that directly channeled the 1980s Kenner style. Fans huddled around to examine the flip-out armor, hidden compartments, and transforming features that made the original line so iconic, now brought to life with modern precision. The 2.75” poseable figures of Scott and his loyal robotic companion T-Bob came with interchangeable masks and accessories, inviting con-goers to relive classic missions from the animated series. Nearby, the sold-out M.A.S.K. Thunderhawk model drew audible sighs from latecomers, its vivid red body and flame effects sparking conversations about childhood play sessions where imaginations ran wild.

The booth’s plush corner was pure comfort food for the soul. Standing out in vivid blue and purple fur was the My Pet Monster 14” plush, complete with the unmistakable orange breakaway cuffs — a tactile reminder of the mischievous 1980s mascot. Right beside it, a P.C. Popple Con Exclusive plush delighted fans with its flip transformation from ball to cuddly creature, proudly sporting its embroidered “Con Exclusive” patch. Rainbow-hued nostalgia radiated from the Rainbow Brite section, with faithful recreations of Puppy Brite and Kitty Brite, the Rainbow Brite Dress-Up Edition Plush, and a bold 12” Indigo plush that popped visually even in a booth packed with color. The meticulous embroidery and premium fabrics signaled that these weren’t just toys — they were collectible tributes.

The Strawberry Shortcake display added its own sweet scent to the experience, quite literally. Figures like the 5.5” Raspberry Tart, Lemon Meringue, and Party Pleaser Strawberry Shortcake offered 29 points of articulation and rooted hair, with each package containing surprise accessory packs for extra play value. Plush lovers gravitated toward the 14” Orange Blossom Rag Doll, its soft yarn curls and cheerful citrus scent prompting more than one fan to share stories of owning the original decades ago. The CheeBee Metallic 7-Pack of mini figures shimmered under the booth’s lights, every 2.5” character infused with its signature scent and packed in a deluxe retro-style box.

Adding to the spectacle, The Loyal Subjects didn’t just rely on static displays. The team hosted a lively “Retro 80s Toys & Talent” panel featuring Samantha Newark (the speaking voice of Jem), Britta Phillips (the singing voice of Jem), and Bettina Bush (voice of Rainbow Brite). The session not only unveiled behind-the-scenes insights into upcoming TLS projects but also culminated in a spontaneous sing-along that carried the joyful chaos of the 80s into the present day. Attendees left the panel with their voices hoarse from singing, their bags full of exclusives, and their hearts a little fuller from the shared nostalgia.

Walking away from Booth #2544, one couldn’t help but appreciate the balance The Loyal Subjects struck between honoring the past and upgrading it for today’s discerning collectors. Every item — from the Jem and the Holograms Jerrica & Synergy Two-Pack with its fold-out stage to the Flashback Enamel Pin Set paying tribute to multiple franchises — felt curated for maximum emotional impact. It wasn’t just about toys; it was about memories, shared stories, and the joy of seeing those stories retold through modern craftsmanship. In a convention where exclusives are often fleeting novelties, The Loyal Subjects delivered something rare: treasures that feel timeless.
