San Diego Comic-Con 2025 once again proved why it is the ultimate gathering for fans of pop culture, and Hasbro’s Star Wars booth stood as one of its most impressive attractions. Located in a prime spot at the San Diego Convention Center on July 25, the booth was designed to immediately capture the attention of both casual visitors and devoted collectors. Towering display cases, cinematic lighting, and immersive dioramas recreated key moments from across the Star Wars saga, blending decades of history with the latest innovations in collectible design. Every corner of the space reflected the sheer scope of the franchise, with carefully curated arrangements that felt part museum exhibit and part toy store of dreams. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of discovery, as attendees moved from one display to the next, taking in the artistry, precision, and storytelling embedded in each release.

One of the main focal points of the booth was the expanded line of The Black Series, which this year celebrated some of the most memorable lightsaber duels in the Star Wars timeline. The SDCC exclusive two-pack featuring Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi captured the intensity of their fateful confrontation on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith, complete with a lava-scorched diorama base. Another fall convention exclusive brought together Darth Sidious and Mace Windu, including interchangeable accessories that reflected the climactic battle from Revenge of the Sith. The reimagined The Empire Strikes Back duel between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker was also a major highlight, offering not only screen-accurate details but also a faithful recreation of the scene’s emotional weight. Additional figure sets brought variety and depth to the collection, such as Anakin Skywalker paired with Captain Rex, Jango Fett with Asajj Ventress, and the first Black Series release of Qimir, also known as “The Stranger,” from the Disney+ series The Acolyte. The latter in particular drew significant attention for its rapid transition from screen debut to high-quality collectible, reflecting Hasbro’s responsiveness to new characters entering the Star Wars canon.

Alongside The Black Series, The Vintage Collection offered a different type of appeal, one rooted in nostalgia while still embracing modern production standards. A meticulously crafted Han Solo and Chewbacca in their A New Hope attire served as a tribute to the original Kenner figures while delivering updated articulation and sculpting. Another standout was the release of the Force Spirits three-pack, featuring Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker in both the original and Special Edition versions as they appear in Return of the Jedi. This dual approach gave collectors the choice between Sebastian Shaw’s portrayal of Anakin from the original 1983 release and Hayden Christensen’s Special Edition version. Also in the Vintage Collection line was the Imperial Shock Trooper, distinguished by its red markings and detailed weapon accessories, a figure that stood out both for troop builders and fans of Expanded Universe and video game appearances.

The undeniable centerpiece of Hasbro’s Star Wars presence at SDCC 2025 was the reveal of the HasLab Vintage Collection LAAT/i Republic Gunship. First introduced in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and featured prominently in The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch, this vehicle has been one of the most requested items among collectors for years. Measuring 28 inches in length and 10.6 inches in height, the model includes a fully detailed interior, two Clone Trooper Pilot figures, interchangeable nose art panels, functional missile launchers, a hinged rear loading ramp, and dual display stands for both landing and in-flight poses. The crowdfunding campaign for the gunship launched on Hasbro Pulse on July 25 and will run until September 8, 2025, with a target of 8,000 backers and an expected retail price of $449.99. If successful, the product is scheduled for release in fall 2026. To further encourage participation, Hasbro announced stretch goal tiers that will add highly sought-after Jedi Council members—Coleman Trebor, Saesee Tiin, and Agen Kolar—into the Vintage Collection lineup, making this project not only a major vehicle release but also an expansion of the prequel-era roster.

Beyond the products themselves, the Hasbro Star Wars booth functioned as a hub for fan engagement throughout the convention. Visitors could handle role-play gear such as lightsabers and blasters, participate in themed photo opportunities with screen-accurate props, and interact with members of the Hasbro design and marketing teams. The environment fostered an exchange of knowledge and enthusiasm between creators and collectors, bridging the gap between those who make the toys and those who bring them into their personal collections. It was a meeting point for multiple generations of Star Wars fans, from those who had lined up to see A New Hope in 1977 to newcomers discovering the saga through modern streaming series like The Mandalorian and The Acolyte.

In its entirety, the Hasbro Star Wars booth at SDCC 2025 was far more than a display of new products—it was a living celebration of nearly five decades of Star Wars storytelling and fandom. By offering a balance of meticulously detailed action figures, thoughtfully updated vintage tributes, and ambitious large-scale projects like the HasLab LAAT/i Republic Gunship, Hasbro reinforced its role as a custodian of the franchise’s legacy within the toy and collectibles industry. The experience underscored the enduring power of Star Wars not just as a series of films and shows, but as a cultural phenomenon capable of uniting fans across time and space. Standing amid the glow of the display cases and the hum of excited conversation, it was clear that in 2025, the Force remains as strong as ever.
