Concert - Dogstar in Concert at La Cigale on June 2, 2024: A successfull Rock Night

This evening, La Cigale in Paris hosted an exceptional musical event featuring Dogstar, the American alternative rock band with Keanu Reeves on bass. This long-awaited return to the Paris stage was part of their European tour, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, following the release of their new self-titled album on October 6, 2023.

Dogstar, formed in 1991, comprises guitarist and vocalist Bret Domrose, drummer Robert Mailhouse, and the renowned actor and bassist Keanu Reeves. The band originated from a simple desire among friends to play music together in a Southern California garage. Despite disbanding in 2002, their passion for music reunited them in 2023.

Their official comeback occurred in May 2023 at the BottleRock Napa Valley festival. Over 20 years since their last performance, Dogstar impressed fans and critics with an outstanding set, including their single Everything Turns Around, released in July 2023. This marked the beginning of a new era for the band.

Dogstar's latest album, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, released on October 6, 2023, reflects the band's artistic growth. Recorded during a period of creative seclusion, the album's 12 tracks capture the essence of the current Dogstar sound. Notable tracks include Breach, Glimmer, and Everything Turns Around, which convey uplifting messages and positive vibes.

The European tour, starting on May 30 in Madrid, included stops in major cities like Paris, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Zurich, Berlin, London, and several Italian cities. The La Cigale concert was a tour highlight, giving French fans a chance to experience the band's new material live, along with classics from their previous albums Our Little Visionary (1996) and Happy Ending (2000).

Keanu Reeves, globally known for his roles in The Matrix, John Wick, Speed, and Point Break, is also a dedicated musician and skilled bassist. Playing with Dogstar since the early '90s, Reeves adds a unique depth to their sound and stage presence. His dual career as an actor and musician showcases a rare artistic versatility admired by fans worldwide.

The concert at La Cigale was a memorable evening for Keanu Reeves fans and alternative rock enthusiasts alike. The venue, famous for its intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics, provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable Dogstar performance.
