SDCC 2018 - SDCC 2018 : We were at the Teen Titans Go! To the Movies Special Screening

By Mulder, San Diego, Horton Grand Theater, 20 july 2018

Last week during the 49th San Diego Comic Con, an special screening for “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies” was held on Friday, July 20 at the Horton Grand Theatre. Fans from all ages were surprised by the voice cast that was there briefly to present the film and a bigger surprise was to see Greg Cipes (Beast Boy) as beast boy himself!

This version of the Teen Titans is well known for making fun of everything and everyone with no exceptions, in a family friendly way, so this movie has its full with jokes and a lot of references from Warner Bros, DC Comics and pop culture, balancing the comedy and the most meaningful parts of the plot.

The 93 minute long film made the attendees laugh, applaud and say “Aww” more than a couple of times. Also the soundtrack is specially made to stick in our heads with songs like “Go!” sung by the cast, or “Upbeat inspirational song about life” which is exactly what its name says. To hear the entire soundtrack, you can check the official playlist on Spotify, but be careful because you imagine part of the film by listening to this. So, SPOILER ALERT: listen by your own risk (https://open.spotify.com/user/mystisking/playlist/7urNoNYkexOsYH9bgveivu)

A big brand-new surprise scene in the mid-credits was added for SDCC (and most likely to the following screenings of the movie) that all fans of the “Teen Titans” will love without a doubt. After the movie ended, all attendee were invited to a little party with snacks, a photobooth that made a video of the attendee dancing at the rhythm of the “Go!” song from the original soundtrack; an photo opportunity with the characters and the time-cycles!

And to wrap things up, before leaving there were gift bags for the little attendees and for grown-ups there were mini-figures off the Teen Titans Go!
