Sorties-Cinema - Professor Marston & the Wonder Women, the Wonder Woman creation story (US)

Par Novias, 14 avril 2017

Sony Pictures has recently purchased the rights to Topple Products and Boxspring Entertainment’s Professor Marston & The Wonder Women. The movie will be an unconventional true story of the creation of Wonder Woman one of the most famous Female comic book superheros.

The movie will be directed by Angela Robinson who is known for D.E.B.S. (2004), True Blood (2008) and The L Word (2004) along with directing and producing many tv show episodes of How to Get Away with Murder (2015-2016), and True Blood (2012-2013). With her history for directing shows with emotional real life drama, we hope that it will carry over into this new venture. She has an amazing cast that will hopefully bring to life the background of how the Wonder Woman comic was created. This movie will come at a time when the stand alone Wonder Woman movie is projected to arrive in theaters in early June 2017, five months before the next movie in the Marvel line up Justice League.

Luke Evans will play Professor Marston, while Rebecca Hall will play his wife and confident. Bella Heathcote will be their student that is the templet of Wonder Woman and the love interest of the couple. Both personalities of these strong women blend into the character that he created as wonder woman and we hope to see each aspect of Wonder Women come to life from her lie detecting lasso to her bullet block golden bracelets, and her outfit which created such controversy even to this day of how Wonder Woman is dressed as she fights the bad guys.

Since the average movie watcher and even the avid Wonder Woman and Marvel comics fan do not know much about Professor Marston, this will be a first time a major comic book writer’s life has been portrayed in such a dramatic fashion. This movie will also delve into current day political topics of gender relations and polyamorous relationships along with the role of a women in the time frame of 1941.

Evans has recently been seen in Disney’s blockbuster live action remake of the classic “Beauty and the Beast. Hall was last seen in “The BFG” and starred as Christine Chubbuck in “Christine”, while Heathcote was seen in “The Neon Demon” and “Fifty Shades Darker”.-

We will speak later this year about this new movie…
