Lost & Found is a stop motion short film about a knitted T-Rex and a Fox and the sacrifices you’re willing to make for the one you love. Very early in the short film you see the close bond the two share and how when danger befalls the Fox it’s not even a question on whether or not the knitted T-Rex needs to act fast. For a film that is just under 7 minutes long it pulls at your heart strings the moment you realize what the dinosaur is going to do in order to save their better half. Not only is it about sacrifice but also about those we love that will go to great lengths to mend and put our broken pieces back together.
Anyone can claim to be a story teller, but it depends on your audience to determine whether or not it will be received well but to be a good story teller is not always easy. When you combine great story telling with beautiful visuals it can captivate your audience. The ability to evoke such strong emotions from your viewers, with beautiful visuals and not a single word spoken in a very short period of time? That’s a game changer and that’s exactly what these creators have done.
This short film is nothing short of beauty. The creativity that went into this story, not only in the writing but also into the design is spectacular. The use of certain textures to create different effects, such as the materials used to create flowing water, catches your eye from the very start. One can imagine the effort that goes into making any film but a stop motion film takes time and a lot of patience and it certainly pays off.
