“Who are we, why are we here? We have a duty to those who are threatened.” - Jane Goodall

Jane details the extraordinary work of conservationist Jane Goodall, whose chimpanzee research challenged the male-dominated scientific consensus of her time and revolutionized the understanding of the natural world. Morgen’s intimate film features rare footage unearthed from the National Geographic archives. The film had its world premiere at the 42nd Toronto International Film Festival at Winter Garden Theatre on September 10, 2017.

Legendary composer Philip Glass recently won at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for “Best Score for a Documentary” for JANE. He will also be the recipient of the Society of Composers & Lyricists Lifetime Achievement Award at a special event on December 12 in New York.

Here are what some of our colleagues are saying about Philip’s beautiful and touching score,

“With a thrilling musical score from Oscar nominated composer Philip Glass this film from director Brett Morgen should be a prime Oscar contender not only for Documentary Feature, but also Original Music Score.”
Pete Hammond - DEADLINE

“This is a mesmerizing documentary, filled with incredible footage of Goodall in the field and modern-day interviews, all set to the best score from Philip Glass in years… .. illuminates the flow of the natural world… [the score] becomes essential to the overall impact of the piece. By the end, I couldn’t imagine the movie without it.”

“Between the score by Phillip Glass and the inherent fascinating nature of Jane Goodall, this has a ton to offer.”
