Convention - Wondercon 2019 : Steve Aoki's Neon Future comic book launch

Neon Future is a new comic book series created by Grammy nominated Steve Aoki, Eisner Award winner Jim Krueger (DC Comics Justice, Marvel Earth X) and publisher Impact Theory. The first issue of Neon Future will be released nationwide at retailers and digitally on March 27th.

Neon Future is set roughly 30 years in the future in an America that has outlawed advanced technology. A civil war is brewing between the Augmented, an oppressed class of people who have chosen to integrate technology into their bodies, and the Authentic, who have not. The resistance movement Neon Future” is led by the mysterious Kita Sovee (a character modeled after Steve Aoki), who strives to bring peace, by showing the world a brighter future in harmony with technology.

The first issue features collectible variant covers designed by Jheremy Raapack (Injustice: Gods Among Us, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight and Hulk Smash) Neil Edwards (The Avengers, Superman, Spider-Man Season One), Kim Jung Gi (Marvel Civil War 2, Blizzard Siege of Lordaeron), and Argentinian visual artist Mau Lencinas.

One of the world’s most successful performers, Steve Aoki has credited comic books for building his love for science fiction, technology and singularity which are prevalent themes throughout all his projects. He also just announced his new memoir which will be released in Sept and has embraced his transition to creator in the publishing world. Jim Krueger has created the world of Neon Future, where advanced technology is outlawed with a war brewing between those who integrate technology into their bodies and those who have not.

The comic book is the first release from publishing studio Impact Theory which focuses on stories of empowerment. The studio was created by highly successful entrepreneur Tom Bilyeu, who co-founded the billion dollar company Quest Nutrition before creating Impact Theory.
