Festivals - Colcoa 2017 : a great French festival with a lot of good surprises

By Mulder, Los Angeles, 01 may 2017

The 2017 COLCOA was held this year at the Directors Guild Complex and it was a cultural hub for one grand week in "The City of Lights, The City of Angels." French Film directors, writers, producers, composers, actors and everything in between were all in enthusiastic attendance for new film and television premieres. For seven days the theaters were enraptured with the beauty of cinema from across the pond and one notable artisan, in all regards, was Dany Boon.

To promote his latest feature for which he directed, produced, wrote and starred in, "Raid dingue," he conversed and intermingled with the entire crowd. Mr. Boon was said to be one of the last people to leave the event on day five. He spoke at length with small business owners Yannis and Sana of an up and coming bakery known for their delightfully decadent and rich to the core cake pops.

Yannis, a self-proclaiming film buff said of Mr. Boon, "He was the last one to leave the DGC. He really wanted to give everyone the opportunity to talk to him."

The vibe on this day was a little more subtle but nonetheless the groups of people and couples who came to enjoy and immerse themselves in all the French cinema that is to arrive in the next months and year ahead left feeling intrigued, inspired, and in love. It is all thanks to this amazing association with its incredibly generous staff and volunteers as well as the talents from the industry such as Dany Boon making everyone feel welcomed and a part of something great.

Everyone eagerly awaits all that may come in the next year for COLCOA: The scripts to be written, the film to be developed, the emotions to be felt and the lives to vicariously experience through the imaginations from another part of the world.
