Convention - SDCC2017 : Best News of the week

By Mulder, San Diego, 10 may 2017

Hello boys and girls, do you know what happens in 71 days? Yes, that’s correct! San Diego Comic-Con kicks off in 70 days from now, just seems like a few weeks ago it was SDCC 2016!

Let's talk about some of the news that’s been announced since last we talked (here and here

One of our favorite SDCC personalities had already been announced for one offsite event, but now he has 2 more. Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman will be back for their Hollywood Babble On. As usual it takes place the Friday of SDCC at the American Comedy Club, tickets and info here

And on Saturday night Kevin Smith has yet another offsite event (who does he think he is? Chris Hardwick, haha). Fatman on Batman at the American Comedy Club. The taping of the podcast takes place at 9:30pm. Tickets available here

Are you a fan of the Zelda games? Or the music from said games? Well if so, this event is for you. The Legend Of Zelda Symphony Of The Goddesses will once again be taking place in downtown San Diego during Comic-Con. Friday night at the Civic Theater. TIckets and more information here

Next up we have the SuicideGirls who are returning to SDCC with their Blackheart Burlesque Tour. This event also takes place the Friday of SDCC, but at The Music Box. Tickets and more information here

No Friday night in Downtown San Diego would be complete without a pub crawl, and this year there are 2 (so far) scheduled. For you Game of Thrones fans, there is a pub crawl that night, starting at Ramada in the Gaslamp. The pub crawl also has a team scavenger hunt aspect to it, details and tickets here.

The next pub crawl on Friday (but they are also doing one on Saturday) is one without a specific theme. Tickets for Friday or Saturday are available, and the crawl starts at Analog Bar at 9:30pm both nights.

Adult Swim (who often have some of the most creative offsite events during SDCC) are back again this year, and they are bringing the Rickmobile store with them as part of their Don’t even trip road trip. Full tour dates and more information here.

Next up (on Friday like everything else it seems) is Funko’s annual Fundays event. It will be taking place on the evening of Friday, July 21, 2017, once again at the Grand Hyatt Manchester in Downtown San Diego! Tickets will be $140 each plus fees. The first round of tickets will be for members of the official Funko Funatics Board, with the next set for the general public sale taking place at a later time.

Last up we have a correction from last week, Conan O’Brien will be doing 4 shows not 3, as we previously had thought.
